Frequently Asked Questions

For salaried applicants, a minimum net monthly salary of ₹15,000 is required. For self-employed individuals, minimum annual income of ₹1.5 Lakh as per last ITR is needed. Higher income increases loan eligibility and improves chances of better interest rates.
Yes. Part-prepayment is allowed after completion of 12 EMIs. For floating rate personal loans, pre-closure after 12 months attracts nil charges as per RBI guidelines (circular RBI/2014-15/241). For fixed rate loans, a nominal pre-closure charge of 2% on outstanding balance may apply.
Personal loan interest is calculated on the reducing balance (diminishing balance) method. Each month, interest is charged only on the outstanding principal balance, not the original loan amount. This means your EMI remains constant but the interest component reduces and principal component increases over time.
A personal loan inquiry (hard inquiry) may temporarily reduce your CIBIL score by a few points. However, timely EMI repayment significantly improves your credit score over time. Defaulting on EMIs negatively impacts your credit score and may affect future borrowing capacity.
Processing fee: 0.50% – 2.00% of loan amount (+ GST). Documentation charges: As per schedule. Late payment penalty: 2% per month on overdue amount. Pre-closure charges: Nil for floating rate after 12 months; 2% for fixed rate. All charges are disclosed upfront as per RBI Fair Practices Code.
